Prayer Action Plan
for Bunker Hill United Methodist Church

We renounce all our past, present, and future...

We announce that... We affirm that... We will...
1. reliance on our own strength and resources rather than on God. in our Creator-God we have all of His strength and resources. as we trust in the Lord and do not lean on our own understanding, He will direct our paths. (Prov. 3:5-6) look to see where God is working and join in doing what He is doing. (John 5:17)
2. failure to follow Jesus and obey His command to make disciples who pursue steps toward maturity in Christ. God has called and equipped us individually and corporately to be Christ's disciple-makers. the full authority and presence of the Lord Jesus Christ Himself empowers us to make disciples. (Matt. 28:18-20) commit personally to follow Jesus and to be accountable to disciple one another to Jesus Christ.
3. lack of love for the unsaved. God is unwilling that any should perish. (2 Pet. 3:9) as we follow Christ, we will be fishers of men. (Matt. 4:19) be ready for and seize every opportunity to bless, fellowship, pray for felt needs, and share to Gospel.
4. failure to consider others' interests in our zeal for our own ministry or interests. (Phil. 2:3,4) we are to bear on another's burdens and thus fulfill the Law of Christ. (Gal. 6:2) in Christ the whole body, joined and held together by every member, grows and builds itself up in love as each part does its work. (Eph. 4:16) seek what is good for others and for the Body of Christ. (1 Cor. 10:24)
5. conformity to the world and its sinful influences on our lives. (Phil. 2:3-4) in Christ we are holy, even as He is holy. (1 Pet. 1:16) God has given us everything we need for life and godliness. (2 Pet. 1:3) focus our minds on things above to live holy lives set apart for God's priorities.
6. failure to give priority to fervent believing prayer for every ministry leader. the fervent effectual prayers of righteous people avail much. (James 5:16) if we ask anything in His name, He will do it, to the glory of God. (John 14:13-14) pray at all times without ceasing for all the saints. (Eph. 6:18)
7. lack of love for the whole Body of Christ, regardless of denominational or ethnic differences. there is one Body, and as we are individually members of it. (Romans 12:5) it is God's will that in Christ we shall all be one, even as He and the Father are one. (John 17:21) be diligent to preserve the unity of the Sprit in the bond of peace. (Eph. 4:3)
